The Financial Punch of Emotional Abuse 

The long-term effects of emotional abuse in a relationship can be long-lasting and devastating and can even affect the abused person for the rest of his or her life. It can box you to the ground leaving you reeling for the rest of your life. An effective tool in the tactics of emotional abuse is financial control. Keeping partners in the dark on finances. This can be done by withholding information and access to family income. Certainly in my case I was always abused for spending money, made feel that I was excessive and demanding. The consequence of the emotional abuse is traumatic. It’s a struggle to come to terms with a broken relationship but equally difficult to face the reality that you are left to put the shattered jigsaw of life back together on your own and very exposed.
